Turriff - pavement works on Leith Walk

E-mail Print PDF

Where gas mains have been moved as a consequence of the MUDFA works, for safety reasons connections from the main into individual properties must be replaced.

Carillion as contractor for tie are responsible for the MUDFA works and SGN(Scottish Gas Network) are responsible for the domestic supplies (i.e. the tenement buildings). There are currently a number of Turriff sub-contractors on Leith Walk undertaking the replacement work.

Turriff

The Association has today had a meeting with Turriff to discuss the extent of the works and timescales:

Stair numbers 253, 303 and 313 will remain unfinished to be completed at a later date. They will be back-filled meantime. Turriff have been told by tie to concentrate on stair numbers 41, 85 and 89 plus four commercial properties. The expectation is that they will be done and dusted by the end of next week, though probably not back-filled.

Turriff have been requested to keep disruption to a minimum, however vans require to be kept close to work sites to allow access to tools and safety breathing apparatus.
